In a report called ‘The Goonj India Index 2015’ Facebook was the most wanted brand in India in 2015 with 24,505.93 GPM (1 GPM = Estimated reach of 1,00,000 on Digital Media). Airtel meanwhile saw itself at the bottom as the most hated brand with 137.03 GPM. Among other popular brands were Dainik Bhaskar and TOI with 808.30 GPM and 662.06 GPM. » Taking advantage of the ‘odd-even scheme’ in Delhi, Radio City 91.1 has launched a clever campaign themed ‘Odd ya Even, Gaadi Dega Radio City 91.1’, providing free cab service to the selected lucky listeners. Finding it rather surprising that there’s been a big debate about this in India, he said “Instead of wanting to give people free access to basic Internet services, critics of the programme continue to spread false claims – even if that means leaving behind a billion people.” In yet another marketing blitz, Zuckerberg himself appeared in a video to ‘decode’ the service along with writing a personal appeal in The Times of India.

The Paris Agreement

Calling their campaign #OPTrump, the group took down the presidential candidate’s online footprint for suggesting a ban on Muslims traveling to USA. “This is what ISIS wants. The more Muslims feel sad, the more ISIS feels that they can recruit them — the more United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims,” said a masked Anonymous representative in a video. » After Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai has penned down an open letter supporting Muslims. Pichai made a reference, albeit indirectly, to the Donald Trump controversy, stating that it is “disheartening to see intolerant discourses on the news”. » The Hamburg office for Facebook was vandalized overnight by an unidentified group. Smashed glass, paint thrown on the walls and a graffiti of “Facebook dislike” was found on a wall by the police with the possible motive of the vandalistic act still unknown.

Breathless Delhi

IBM will join hands with Delhi Dialogue Commission (DDC), a think tank of the state government, for a three month pilot programme that will provide the government with relevant insights and recommend suitable policies to improve air quality of the city where air pollution levels have shot up to ‘severe’ warning category. » Mark Zuckerberg came to the support of Muslim community. “If you’re a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you,” wrote Zuckerberg in a Facebook post. Zuckerberg’s comments come after a rash of anti-Muslim sentiment following the attacks in Paris and the massacre in San Bernardino.
